Where were YOU when the world stopped turning?
"That September day"? I was on a flight from Denver , grounded in Albuquerque TG! & I was scared alone in a hotel room for 5 days until I was able to come home. It's weird. The seminar I was in was almost held in Boston. So Sorry Sunshine. That must have been scary!

I was actually in a little cafe called Yaffa's at the time, about a two minute walk from the WTC, getting breakfast before work with my best friend. I remember hearing a really loud rumble, which sounded like a plane coming in to land at an airport. Planes flew pretty low around New York, due to the JFK, Newark & La Guardia airports, so I thought nothing of it, until we heard the explosion. A man came into the cafe, ran up to someone that they knew & said that a bomb had just gone off in one of the towers. Of course it hadn't, but we didn't know that at the time. Pretty much everyone in the cafe went outside to get a look at the towers. We stood there for about 15 minutes, then watched as the second plane hit the second tower. That's when people starting screaming all sorts - "how are they gonna get out? who did this? is it a terrorist attack?" etc. Then I remember an NYPD officer and a fireman pushing through the crowd and telling everyone to get back inside the cafe. I remember this part very well, because the officer had a very distinct Jersey accent. They kind of shoved us back into the building & told us to stay away from the windows. We all realized that there was no point in trying to go anywhere, because the roads were blocked with cars, emergency vehicles & people. More people than anything else. To cut a very long story short, we were still in the cafe when the towers came down, and I remember seeing the cloud of dust and smoke coming towards us, and someone next to me yelling at a man to shut the door. We sat there for what seemed like forever. Then a man in a suit covered in soot & dust pushed the door open and asked if we had any water. That's when everyone kind of sprang into action, grabbed water bottles, drinks & napkins & went out into the street. And that's how we spent the rest of the day - helping people on the street - giving them water, washing the soot out of their eyes & off of their faces, and helping them into ambulances. I hope that wasn't too long to read. Andie.

Physically, I was near a radio and heard the news second hand. Spiritually, I was in prayer and deep thought. The airplain was flying overhead near my direction and yes, you are right to notice the world does stop.
